ISDR's 33rd Annual Dental Research Conference will be held in February 2023.

In Memoriam: Prof. Dr. M. Rahamatullah

The Indian Society for Dental Research records with deep sorrow the passing of Prof. Dr. M. Rahamatullah, Founder President of ISDR, on 26 December 2025.

A stalwart of dental education and research, Prof. Rahamatullah was instrumental in founding ISDR and aligning it with the International Association for Dental Research (IADR). His leadership laid the foundation for a strong research culture within Indian dentistry. An eminent academician and administrator, he served in several prestigious roles in India and abroad, including Professor of Dentistry at King Saud University, Riyadh, and senior leadership positions in dental education institutions across India. ISDR honours his vision, service, and lifelong commitment to advancing dental research. His influence will continue to inspire future generations. We extend our sincere condolences to his family and the dental fraternity.

Fellowship

We honor eligible candidates with various awards and Fellowships

IADR David B. Scott Fellowship

The David B. Scott Fellowship is awarded annually to a dental student in one IADR Division and will rotate alphabetically among the Divisions. It will be the Division’s responsibility to select the recipient by any method it devises, but the Division must present the candidate’s name and the proposal for his or her research experience to the IADR Board of Directors for approval. The annual recipient of the fellowship will be announced at each IADR General Session & Exhibition. The IADR expects to award the David B. Scott Fellowship in the amount of US$2,500.

About Us

The society owes its origin to Dr. M. Rahmatulla, founder president who conceived the formation of the society when he attended the IADR 64th annual session in Dallas, Texas in March 1984. At the instance of the then president of IADR Dr. Robert frank of France, IADR (Indian Division) was conceived at the opening ceremony.
